I was on my way back home after grocery shopping and I was listening to one of the Hillsongs. The song talked about God's love. I was reminded of the part of the message that Pastor David had given at the retreat: asking Jesus Christ at any part of the day 'How do you see me?' 'What do you think about me?' and wait to listen to Jesus. He will respond by saying that 'You are so beautiful.' 'I love you just the way you are!'
Then it occurred to me, why do I tell people to read the bible or to pray? Not reading the bible or praying certainly does not make God love me any less. Even while I am committing a sin, it may make God upset, but the fact that He still loves me does not change.
There is absolutely nothing that I could do to make God love me more and there is nothing that I could do to make God love me less.
So then, why do I still tell people that it's important to read the bible or to pray? It suddenly hit me, as the song's lyric "I love you Lord" reached my ears. I read the bible and pray, because that is a way to have a relationship with a loving God. I am a human being who so easily forget about God's love that I have to be constantly reminded that He loves me no matter what! I also pray to God to hear His voice and to have a conversation with Him!
After this realization, I think that from now on I can genuinely tell others to read the bible and to pray if they yearned to have a relationship with God, and to experience Him. Now that you have read this too I can tell you to join me in reading His words and listening to His voice! :) I invite you now to read the words and listen to what He has to say and enjoy His presence.
